Every blogger wants to see his or her blog traffic statistics. It is a kind of pleasure to see how our blog receives traffic from worldwide. In Web, there are hundreds of tools and web services offer this tracking technology. But they are all paid services. Search engine giant Google offers this service for completely free in the name of ‘Google analytics’. Remember signing up to Google Analytics doesn’t meant that you are submitting your blog into Google search engine for showing in search engine results page. Ok. Now we will see how to sign up for Google Analytics in simple steps.
1. Go to www.google.com/analytics

2. If you have any gmail id, you can use it to sign in. If you don’t have, you can use your blog domain email id to sign up. Click sign up.

3. Fill out the details to create a Google account using your email id and click ‘I accept terms and conditions’.

4. You will be asked to sign up now using your newly created Google account.

5. In next step fill the general information and click ‘Continue’.

6. Then fill the contact information and click ‘Continue’.

7. Then check terms and conditions option and click ‘Create New Account’.

8. Then you will be asked to provide analytics instructions. See the below screen shot. If you want to track single domain select the first option. If you want to track including sub domains of your blog, select the second option. Copy the Java script.

9. Now you have to login in your wordpress admin dashboard. Click ‘editor’ under ‘Appearance’ tab.

10. Click ‘Footer’ in right side of the page.
11. Paste the code before the closing body tag and don’t forget to click ‘Update file’. Now come back to Google analytics page. Click ‘Save and Finish’.
That’s all. You have finished. Google analytics will start to track your site with in 24 hours. After that you can see the analytics.
