How to post content in your wordpress blog? – Step 10

This post is the continuation of series of posts to ’90 days challenge to make money online’. If you haven’t read the previous posts, better to go through here.

Now we are going to learn how to post content in your blog. In your new wordpress blog, by default, a ‘Hello world’ post stands. You have to delete it first. After that we can start to add new posts. If you have struggled to write content for your blog, no problem, we will assist you in our upcoming posts. We will discuss there how to write effective content. Now we can learn how to post the content.

1. Go to your wordpress admin area.

2. Click ‘Edit’ option under ‘Posts’ tab.

 3. By default, wordpress shows a post called ‘Hello world’. You have to delete it before making your first post. Mouse over the post title ‘Hello world’. You will see some options like ‘edit, quick edit, delete, and preview’. Click ‘delete’ to remove the post permanently.

4. After done you will see ‘post deleted’ message.

5. Now click ‘Add new’ under ‘posts’ tab.

6. a) Enter your post title in first text box.
b) You will see two modes ‘visual’ and ‘Html’. Select ‘visual’ to post your text content. If you are going to add any html code, then select ‘html’ option. Now we select ‘visual’ option.
c) Copy and paste the content that you have already written using word processor in big content box.

7. In same page, you can see the options ‘tags’ and ‘categories’.

What are tags used in wordpress blog?

Tags are important keywords to your posts which can be used by search engines & your site search box to offer your content to people. So add some relevant keywords for your all posts. Don’t ignore it.

What are categories used in wordpress blog?

When your blog is new, your visitors can easily access your contents. But when your blog grows much faster, your visitors might struggle to find your content. So it is necessary to organize blog content in different categories and you can show your category links somewhere in your home page. People easily go to relevant categories section and read your content. By default wordpress has only one category called ‘Uncategorized’. To create new categories, go to ‘categories’ under ‘posts’ tab in dashboard

8. In right column of that page, you can see ‘preview’ and ‘publish’ option. Publish option used to post your content in online Before making it publicly viewable in online, click ‘preview’ and ensure your blog post looks properly.
