How to add more features to your blog?
Today in modern world, especially in internet, everyone looking for more features in all products and services. The companies which offer more features and updates are getting much popular among people. For example, have you ever wondered about the remarkable growth of Firefox browser? Main reason for its growth is add-ons.
You can offer cool features and extra functionality to your blog through plug-ins. For example if you want to add retweet button in your blog posts, you can simply install a plug-in for that purpose. If you want to show recent posts or popular posts in your side bar, you no need to write any coding. Simply install a relevant plug-in and activate it.
Now I show you how to find good plug-ins and install them in your blog.
1. Go to your blog admin dashboard.
2. Click ‘Add new’ under ‘Plug ins’ tab.
- 3. In next page, you can search for plugins available in wordpress plug-in library.
Wordpress almost has plug-ins for all needs. For example if you want to add retweet button, type ‘retweet button’ in search box and click ‘search plugins’.
You will be provided relevant plugins. See the screenshot below I got for retweet button plugin search.

- I. Click the plugin name link to see information about the plugin.
- II. You can see the number of stars in rating section. Ratings are given by users who used or using the plugins.
- III. If you decided to try that plugin in your blog, click ‘install’.
- 4. In next page, click ‘Install now’.
- 5. You can see successful plugin installation message. Click ‘Activate plugin’. You can see plugin activated message in ‘Manage plugins’ section.
Important instruction:
Most of the plugins are working well after completion of above steps. But some plugins need initial inputs or give you more control over that plugins. For more control, look for your installed plugin under ‘Settings Tab’. Click the available menus and customize your plugin.
For example you can see the below option for retweet meme plugin.
Now I am clicking ‘Settings’ under ‘Tweet MeMe’. I can change some options like position of the retweet button, to show button only in pages etc. Go to your blog and see the functionality of plugin.
Note: You can install plugins available only from wordpress plugin library using search option. You can download some plugins from other websites in online and upload them to activate by clicking ‘Upload’ option in ‘search plugins’ page.
